Most of us who have grown up with long hair have wrapped their hair in a towel after a shower. It is effective and practical to keep your soaking wet hair from dripping everywhere. However, this is not the best way to keep your hair as strong and healthy as possible. Wet hair is the most vulnerable because strands can easily be broken from being saturated.
I have researched the best ways to keep hair smooth and healthy over the years. As I said in a previous post, one way to do so is with conditioner. Another way to do so without having to purchase anything is with a cotton T-shirt. You know that random old T-shirt that you’re not even sure why you still own? Take that out from your drawer and use it to dry your hair instead of a towel.
When you get out of the shower, wrap your towel around your body and your hair in your shirt. The cotton shirt is a softer material that will not cause as much breakage to your hair. To avoid even more possible damage, do not wrap your hair so tightly or at all. Instead of wrapping, you can squeeze water out of your hair, in sections, using the T-shirt.
My sister has made the switch from towel to shirt and is so happy with the results. She has extremely curly hair and she says that her curls are better when she uses a T-shirt instead of a towel. This method is not just for straight-haired people! Everyone can benefit from making this switch!
